What to Expect During Your Kybella Treatment
Your Consultation
Your Kybella journey begins with a thorough one-on-one consultation. We evaluate the amount and distribution of submental fat, assess your skin elasticity, and review your medical history to ensure Kybella is the right fit for you. We take the time to walk you through the process, set realistic expectations, and create a completely customized treatment plan.
To help minimize discomfort and reduce the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding blood thinners, alcohol, and anti-inflammatory medications for several days before your appointment. Please let us know about any medications or supplements you are currently taking.
The Treatment Process
On the day of your appointment, the treatment area will be cleansed and marked with a temporary grid to guide precise injections. A topical numbing agent may be applied for added comfort. Your provider will then administer a series of small injections directly into the submental fat using a fine needle. The number of injections per session varies based on the amount of fat present and your individual treatment plan. Most sessions take approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Immediate Aftercare
After your treatment, swelling, bruising, redness, and numbness in the treated area are completely normal and expected as part of the fat-destruction process. We recommend applying ice packs, avoiding strenuous activity for 24 to 48 hours, and sleeping with your head slightly elevated for the first night. Your provider will give you complete aftercare instructions before you leave.
Seeing Your Results
Most clients begin to notice visible improvement after two to four treatment sessions, spaced at least four to six weeks apart. As your body gradually eliminates the destroyed fat cells over the weeks following each session, your chin and jawline will appear progressively more sculpted and defined.
